CRAZY Challenge

This topic is dedicated to all the crazy guys who attempted (and eventually succeeded) in climbing 25 times the same big. What is your feedback of this challenge ? When was it the hardest ? How to motivate oneself ?

Ce sujet est dédié à tous les membres fous qui vont tenter (et peut-être réussir) de grimper 25 fois le même big. Quelle est votre impression après ce challenge ? Ou avant ? Quand est-ce le plus difficile ? Comment se motiver ?

Le 2 mai, sans doute avec Wouter, je tenterai 25 fois le mur de Huy.
Pour le tournage du petit reportage sur le BIG à la RTBF, ils me l'ont déjà fait grimper 4 fois de suite. Après le 2e mur, je me suis dit : "je n'y arriverai jamais le 2 mai".
Au 4e, j'étais mieux.... Pourquoi ? Je n'en sais absolument rien !
En tout cas, j'ai vraiment envie d'essayer.
Je crois que je vais le tenter en 6 séries : 1 de 5, puis 5 de 4.
Je pense commencer vers 6h30 le matin et en faire entre 3 et 4 par heure...
Ca fera 3200m de dénivellation, 32,5 km de montée (moyenne 10%) et 95km (25 tours de 3,8km) au total.
On verra.

Have done BIG 102 Italian Road last Friday. A nice climb through the forest over cobblestones. The weather was great, about 14 C, with sun and clouds. I did this challenge in 3 series (2x10, 1x5), with a short break in between each to eat something and take a sanitary stop
After 6-7 runs in a serie, you're really looking forward to that coming break, even though short. And the last runs are just dead-boring, since you know every stone, tree, branch, or whatever is lying on the road, just the hikers in the forrest changed every run
Well, after 3 hours I completed the job, luckily, and raced home for a nice white beer in the afternoon sun!
I think for other BIG's not to be completed within one day, this boringness is smaller, but on the other hand 25 stays 25 times!!
To summarize, if you're somewhat well-trained (or somewhat more), then it's reasonably well do-able, the mental issue of boredome is the major problem!

....09 april 2010.....Mortirolo is still FULL of SNOW....I can't wait to start the Ironbig BUT...........

Hoffentlich wird das IRONBIG Unternehmen weniger schwer.

OTHER: My opinion is that those IRONBIG callenges are too light ones, that (by the version 25 times in a day) has less than ca. 2500m in a day (less than 100meteres heightdifference / climb), that's why I try to do a harder one on Pannonhalma (http://challenge-big.eu/hun/big/853 ) next year.

On Dobogókő (550-600m heightdiff ) I would like to do that with ca. 4-6 cycling days: on those days to climb it minimum 3-6 times in that day.

Cow and Calf was too easy! The painful bit was losing my bike - stolen.
Today I started Ironbig of Mam Tor, my nearest BIG to home so thought really I should do this!
Today I climbed all three sides twice. It's impossible to cycle it 25 times in one day but here is my start.
I completed six climbs from all three sides twice. I will attempt it three more times to make 25 climbs in one month. Please add me for Ironbig 2 challenge.
I need the practice for my next tour!
