Gábor Györgyi Nice Gábor! You were a bit unlucky with the weather, but there were many very nice photos in nice weather also! Quite an accomplishment with all the climbs, Marmotte & your test of the Ötztaler (which I did this year for the first time). My first 7 pages from the Summer is up now (I travelled to a few places you also did, but later in the Summer, like Col de Ramaz, that I put today): http://cycloclimbing.com/tour2009/

| :-) Although it seems not so good, the weather wasn't so tragical: in SWitzerland there were a few showers, but total rainy day not. In France: superb weather as usually :-) and in S Germany + Austria: variable: not so good and little bit cold (for me) - that wasn't so good for cycling, but I wanted to cycle so I cycled in rain too. Ötztaler RM: congratulations ! I will read your experiences and I think, I will ask you by e-mail. Is it only fortune to be in the 4000 participants after the registration ? You had ideal weather for it! | |

You had ideal weather for it! Yes, it was quite nice -- I finished at 9h17min. I hope to get up some photos, when I have finished the Alps tour and then add another page or 2,3 for the Liguria meeting. /Jerry

| I read a small interview with You in the Tour magazin (german) by the Ötztaler radmarathon article. It was a usual cycling (Not extra) day for you.:-) Gabor - eyeless wrote:

| Congratulations, dear Jerry. You merit so much the honour of such a magazine. Etienne told me about your capacities on the bike in Varazze. Amazing ! Hurrah for Jerry av Sverige ! | |

But there are really many amazing guys (and girls, for that matter) in our club ... I am just talking so much . I will eventually ... before christmas, I hope, have a web page up for both the Ötztaler & the nice Varazze meeting (with some quite nice photos). We'll see what the next year will bring ... but I have already been "foolish" enough to join a gang for trying to get in on 7 hours on the biggest ride in Sweden next year -- around the second biggest lake in Sweden -- Lake Vättern (Vätternrundan). I am not sure I can make it though, but I should be able to get in under 7.30 if we cooperate and the weather is good and I have had some training ... . Maybe I go to Rimini earlier in the year if I can get away from work and join some other Swedish guys there ... .

| The text in the magazine translated to english: When the mountains are not available where I live, I have to travel to the mountains, is the motto of Jerry Nilson. The Swede from Gothenburg is entirely dependent on the steep mountain roads. Better than he knows the Alps, few other cyclists do: any asphalt pass road over 1700 meters, he has already visited - a total of over 1,000 passes with racing bike. He prefers to travel by road bike and a small backpack. "You feel like an explorer, each pass leads again to a new world," said Nilson on his passion. This year he has already accumulated on his vacation 88 passes. That should be enough, in preparation - and the Ötztaler race he looks at just as a nice day trip. Box: "I actually have not a the figure of a climber and am much better on the flat. But I love the Alps. I prefer to go with a backpack from Alpine pass on to the next. Then you have unlimited freedom and do not know what the next day will bring. Overall I have cycled over more than 1,000 mountain passes in the last ten years. My dream is to visit all the major mountain passes in the Alps that can be accessed with a road bike. the Ötztaler race is like an ordinary day for me, the race element is not so important." (Time: 9tim17min) Et en Francais (merci pour Ludger Vorberg de Club des Cent Cols): http://www.centcols.org/quoi_de_neuf/2009/Tour-magazine-oct-2009.jpg | |
