Pasul Urdele - Transalpina

The road Transalpina to Pasul Urdele (2145 m) has been completely asphalted (119 km of 120 total) in November. Now it is the highest asphalted climb in Romania and the highest in whole Carpathians, available from both sides for road cyclists. It should replace one of smaller Romanian BIGs to keep the BIG hallenge up-to-date.

I've been three times in the Urdele area, I say it's very challenging especially from S (Novaci) to N (Sebes).
Now, that it is fully surfaced I think it ought to be included in the BIG list.
In fact there are three passes there: (from S to N) Urdele Pass (2140), Muntinu Pass (aprox.2120, close to Urdele Pass) and, after crossing the Lotru River, the Tartarau Pass (1700m).
Comming from West (fron Jiu River), there is another pass, the Jiet gorges, hopefuly also surfaced in the near future.
