Last week we would like climb this BIG. We started from Uccea (east side).
First we saw the road sign which wrote "the road is closed from 09.11.2010.
We cycling across. Later we found many rocks on the road and two avalanche. Shocked
We must back. It was 750 m height. Sad

If any italian members have new informations, please send to Daniel Gobert and me.

Thank you very much Henry and Jerry!

Congratulations for this climb. The walking is no problem for us, but the avalanches (I thing) not too safety.
This is challange isn't a life.

If the Sella Carnizza will be open I would like to go once more or not I think it must change for Passo Tanamea.

Hi.
It seems that there is one side better than the other one.
Which side did you ride by climbing : Slovenian one or the other one ?
Regards and thanks.
Dan.

I think Gabor was coming from the Slovenian side. I went up the steep Italian side. The Slovenian side has a long section along the steep mountain that is prone to rock falls (often the road is cut into the mountainside, I believe). /Jerry
